About Programme
The Department of Chemistry, which is within the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences within the body of Bursa Technical University, accepted its first students to the undergraduate program in the 2011-2012 academic year. It consists of Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry Departments.

History
Department of Chemistry, was established at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Architecture in 2011. Chemistry Education, including one year of preparatory language training, covers a five-year period and 30% of courses are taught in English. "Bachelor degree in Chemistry" title gained by completing the training program, and work as a "Chemist". Also, students can have a second "BSc degree" or "minor sertificate" by completing "double major" or "minor" education program in the same or other faculties of BTU.

Admission Requirements
Like any university in Turkey, student admissions to the undergraduate program in the Department of Chemistry at BTÜ, as regulated by guidelines set by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YOK), occur usually through a nation-wide university entrance exam (YGS), conducted by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Following the submission of students’ academic program preferences, ÖSYM places the students to the program based on their YGS score. International students can be accepted to the program based on the exam conducted by our university. Exchange student admission is done according to the requirements determined by the bilateral agreements signed by BTÜ and the partner university (Erasmus and Farabi).
Higher Grade Transition
Students who have bachelor's degree may enroll in graduate education programs.
Graduation Requirements
Satisfying the conditions mentioned in "Qualification Requirements and Regulations" section is enough for graduation.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates can work as a researchers, practitioners and advisor in various industrial organization’s (petrochemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, iron and steel, automotive, food, textile, mining, etc.) quality control of production steps and development of production processes (Res. & Dev.). they who have pedagogical training, can serve as a teacher in the private & public schools. Also the completion of the necessary training, there are opportunities to find work as academics in universities
Assessment and Grading
One written midterm and one written final exam are carried out throughout one semester. Raw success score concerning a course exam, is a score obtained by adding the 50% of the average of midterm and, if any, other educational activities and the 50% of the the final exam. If the student has a raw success score is 2.00 or higher, then he/she is considered as succesful from that course.
