About Programme

Food Engineering Department of Bursa Technical University which is the 5th technical university of the Türkiye, was established in 2012  and started to accept its first students in undergraduate and graduate programs in the 2015-2016 academic year. The department, currently has 12 teaching staff, including 3 associate professors, 4 assistant professors and 5 research assistants.

History
The Department of Food Engineering, which was established in 2012 within Bursa Technical University, which is the 5th Technical University of the Türkiye, started to accept its first students in undergraduate and graduate programs in the 2015-2016 academic year. As of the 2022-2023 academic year, the doctoral program has also been opened. The department, which continues its activities under the roof of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, currently has 15 faculty members, including 2 professor, 4 associate professors, 4 assistant professors and 5 research assistants.
Qualification Awarded
Upon completion of all required conditions, the graduates are awarded with a diploma of Bachelor Science in Food Engineering.
Admission Requirements
The undergraduate program in the Department of Computer Engineering at BTÜ, as regulated by guidelines set by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YOK), occur usually through a nation-wide university entrance exam (YKS), conducted by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). International students can be accepted to the program based on the exam conducted by our university. Exchange student admission is done according to the conditions determined by the bilateral agreements signed by BTÜ and the partner university (Erasmus and Farabi).
Higher Grade Transition
The graduates can apply for graduate education in the related fields provided that the Natural Sciences Institute of the subject university’s conditions is met.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate from the program; All courses required for 240 ECTS credits must be successfully completed and must have at least 2.00 GPA out of 4.00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates are employed in all areas of the food industry, in public institutions, in production planning, production, quality control and marketing of foodstuffs.
Assessment and Grading
Our students are subject to Bursa Teknik Üniversitesi Ölçme ve Değerlendirme Esasları Yönergesi.
