About Programme
Ülkemizde ve dünya genelinde son zamanlarda bilim ve teknoloji alanında meydana gelen hızlı gelişmeler ve yenilikler sonucunda, çalışmaların disiplinlerarası bir anlayışla ele alınması, üzerinde önemle durulması gereken bir yaklaşım haline gelmiştir. Bilimsel çalışmalara değişik açılardan ışık tutabilecek, fikir çeşitliliği yaratabilecek farklı uzmanlık dallarından gelen kişilerin bilgi ve tecrübelerinin uygun bir şekilde biraraya getirilmesi ve kullanılması disiplinlerarası bir yüksek lisans programının oluşturulması ile sağlanabilecektir.Orman Ürünleri Yüksek Lisans Programının amacı, farklı bölümlerden mezun olan ve lisansüstü eğitimine devam etmek isteyen kişilere orman ürünleri alanında disiplinlerarası bir yaklaşım ile bilimsel olarak kendilerini geliştirebilmelerini sağlamak, bunun yanı sıra teorik ve analitik bir bakış açısıyla bilimsel araştırmaları planlama, yürütme ve bilgiyi değerlendirme ile yorumlama yetisini kazandırmaktır. Ayrıca, bir lisansüstü tezin sahip olacağı nitelikler ve özgünlüğü, bilimsel makalelerin hazırlanışı ve literatür kaynaklarından yararlanma teknikleri öğretilecektir. Program, uzmanlık alanlarına temel olabilecek kuramsal bir altyapı sağlarken aynı zamanda seçmeli dersler, uygulama ve araştırma projeleri ve tez çalışması ile öğrencilere uzmanlaşma imkânı da vermeyi hedeflemektedir. Program sonunda, bilgiyi değerlendirme, yorumlama ve uygulama yeteneği kazanan öğrencilerimiz “Disiplinlerarası Orman Ürünleri Yüksek Lisans Derecesi” ünvanı ile mezun edilecektir.

History
In 2013, Forest Products Master Program (English) was established in the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences. In 2013-2014 academic year of fall term, Forest Products Master program began the graduate education. There are 5 academic staffs in the program.

Qualification Awarded
The Master Degree in Forest Products (English) is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed the program.

Admission Requirements
1 - Bachelor's Degree in acceptable fields,
2 - Sufficient score (minimum 55) from the National Academic Staff & Graduate Education Exam (ALES),
3 - Sufficient score (minimum 65) from the Foreign Language Placement Test (YDS)

Higher Grade Transition
|
After completing the course it is possible to begin PhD program in BTU or any other national university provided sufficient scores in foreign language exam and ALES
|
Graduation Requirements
|
The students who have successfully completed a minimum of 120 ECST from all compulsory and elective courses of the program and successfully prepared and defended a thesis in related field.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
The graduates of the Forest Products master program have many opportunities of employment in a variety of state and private companies. Employers range from very small firms to large multinational firms, and are located in urban centers as well as rural areas. The program's interdisciplinary nature allows graduates to pursue careers in areas such as material processing, wood finishing, product design, quality control, sales and marketing of forest products industry

Assessment and Grading
|
Each course is assessed via a midterm exam, a second mid-term exam may be composed of quiz(s), homework(s) and project(s), and a final end-of-term exam. The marking is made out of 100 score.
