About Programme
|
The Ph.D. Program is a program to provide students with the necessary infrastructure and equipment in order to develop a new method in the fields of interest of Mechanical Engineering or to apply a known method to a new subject. One of the most important goals of this program is to bring the up-to-date technology that Bursa and the surrounding industry and the whole world work on, to the advanced level, and to train the human resources needed by companies and universities working in priority areas.

History
|
The PhD program in the mechanical engineering department is, in accordance with the regulations of YÖK, carried out under the Natural and Applied Sciences Ins. of Bursa Technical University established in 2010.

Admission Requirements
To have
1- BSc and MSc certificates from the relevant departments
2- required base ALES score determined by the university
3- required foreing language score from any of the exams such as UDS, TOEFL, KPDS
|
Higher Grade Transition
|
After completing the course it is possible to go on academic researchs as postdoctorate or Assistant Professor status at BTU or other national/international universities.
|
Graduation Requirements
The student must successfully pass all core and elective courses on the program, and prepare a thesis on the subject which should be accepted by the selected jury.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Our graduates can take part in research activities in many national or international universities and research instititues as well as working in many national and international companies as engineers, managing directors and CEOs.

Assessment and Grading
The following score system is applied.

0-69 F Unsuccesfull
* Succesfull, if the average of midterm and final exams are equal or greater than 70.
* Unsuccesfull, if final score is less than 55.
* If unsuccesfull the right for makeup exam is given. The student must have at least 70 point from makeup exam to be succesfull.
